AHS Inspection-July 18th, 2007

Our sixth annual American Hanoverian Society inspection was held on July 18th.  This year’s inspection team included judges Suzanne Quarles, Dr. Werner Schade, and learner judge John Gillien, with Hugh Bellis-Jones as secretary.

The morning began with the Mare Performance Test, in which two mares participated.  The High Scoring Mare of the MPT was Revlon (Rohdiamant-SPS Weltina-Weltmeyer), a seven year old Hanoverian mare owned by Maple Run Farm and bred by Eugene Kolb of Germany.

Five Hanoverian mares were presented for inspection.  The High Score Mare was Donnergirl (Don Frederico-Moments Flight xx-Shanekite xx), owned by Janice Graham and bred by Marion Dresel O’Connor.

After a brief lunch break the foal presentation was held.  The overall quality of the foals was commented on by the judges, who were in particular impressed with the wonderful group of colts.  Seven colts sired by Diamond Hit, Hotline, Rubin Royal, Winterprinz, Don Frederico, Fabuleux, and Regazzoni were inspected.  The “Best of Day” colt honors were a tie between the Diamond Hit colt (Diamond Hit-Revlon-Rohdiamant) owned and bred by Maple Run Farm and a Don Frederico colt (Don Frederico-Moments Flight xx-Shanekite xx) owned and bred by Janice Graham.

Seven fillies were presented.  Their sires included Webellin, Donavan, Journeey ox, Diamond Hit, Dancier, Winterprinz, and Regazzoni.  A Dancier filly (Dancier-EM Wintessa-Winterprinz), owned and bred by Maple Run Farm, was named “Best of Day” filly.

As always we would like to send special thanks and congratulations to all of the participants.  Much appreciation also goes to the AHS and its wonderful inspection team, our official hander Ken Borden, Jr., Karen Leitz our official photographer, and Dale Fredrickson, who shot video footage of the day.

ISR/Oldenburg N.A. Inspection-July 29th, 2007

On July 29th, Oldenburg Farm welcomed Christian Schacht for our seventh annual ISR/Oldenburg N.A. inspection.  Although our inspection was small in comparison to previous years Christian commented on how highly impressed he was with the overall quality of the foals and mares presented.

The day began with five mares for inspection.  “Roc’s Paper Tiger” (Roc USA-Forgotten Scotch), a three year old Oldenburg owned by Natalie Prentice, was placed in the Premium Mare Book scoring 108 points and earning the title of Champion Mare.  Two other mares were placed in the Premium Mare Book, the Hanoverian mare “Crazy Lady” (Crazy Classic-Withne) and a Holsteiner mare “Tiena” (Lorentin I-Udine), both owned by Parvin Work.  Also presented were the mares “Meadow Star Rising” (Rise High-Meadow Bar Melody-Chunn Bar) an Appendix Quarter Horse owned by Laura Utschig-Samuels who scored 101 points, and Thoroughbred mare named “Annie Dorie” (Flying Pidgeon-Our Reflection) owned by Split Rail Stables who earned 102 points.

After an enjoyable lunch break we ended the day with the foal presentation.  Six colts were presented; all but one of whom were named Premium colts.  “J’adore le Vaurien” (Joshua-Forgotten Scotch) owned by Natalie Prentice was just short of Premium scoring 7.9 points.  “Dragonsun” (Drachen Herz-No Sunset) owned by Willow Glen Farm scored 8.0 points, “Dayz of Glory” (Drachen Herz-Winterset) owned by Willow Glen Farm scored 8.1 points, “Rezolute” (Regazzoni-Stefie Tee) owned by Jane Clark, DVM scored 8.1 points, “Randolfini” (Regazzoni-Copper Lady-Cabaret) owned by Oldenburg Farm, LLC scored 8.2 points, and “Drakkar” (Drachen Herz-Whinney Widget-Werbellin) owned by Willow Glen Farm scored 8.4 points to be named Champion Colt.

The filly group had four fillies presented.  Each filly presented earned Premium status.  The pony filly “Tallua” (Skyview’s Triton-Rizilient) owned by Carol Nelson scored 8.0 points, “Duchesse” (Donavan-Caviar) owned by Wendy Costello scored 8.4 points, “Rahannah” (Regazzoni-Corina-Cor Noir) owned by Gene Marks and Chris Marks-Skow scored 8.4 points, and “Ralahari” (Regazzoni-Rafiki-Riverman) owned by Oldenburg Farm scored 8.5 points and was named Champion Filly.

Oldenburg Farm would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this inspection possible and congratulate all of the participants!  Special thanks to the ISR/Oldenburg N.A. and Christian Schacht, as well as Ken Borden, Jr., our official handler, Karen Lietz, our official photographer, and Dale Fredrickson, who shot video of the day.
